Objective: Help scope, design and build V1 of Spot. Together, the Product Manager, CTO and myself worked to scope and build an MVP for Spot app.
Spot was created to help people find great places. The problem is lots of apps give you everything and people are left to dig through endless reviews and lists only to eventually ask friends where to go. We wanted Spot to give you great places from the start and to learn about you and your tastes as you travel the world (or even your hometown).
We utilized machine learning, content sorting and user habits to create a pretty cool experience. We also worked closely with Uber to be one of the first apps to use the Uber API to call a ride to a listing in the app.
